Mrs. Jessie M. Gollmar, 87, died Monday afternoon in Stoughton Sommunity hospital after a long illness. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George (Pop) Hall, she was brought up in the circus tradition, having begun her career at the age of 3 and continued in the role after her marriage to Walter Gollmar, one of the founder of Gollmar Bros. circus. A native of Magnolia township, Mrs. Gollmar lived in this area all her life except when the circus was on the road. She was a versatile performer and filled many different roles including snake charmer and high wire and trapeze artist. She was married to Frank Macart and after his death married Mr. Walter Gollmar in 1906. He died in 1933/ Surviving are two sons, Fred E. Macart of Baldwin Park, Calif., and Walter Gollmar, Evansville; two grandchildren, Mrs. Ronald Brown, Crystal Lake, Ill., and Fred Macart, Jr. of Elkhorn, Wisc.; one neice, Mrs. Howard Bruce, Evansville; and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. in the Allen Funeral Home with the Rev. John L. Walker officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill cemetery.
