Caroline Alcy (Peebles) Wallace
Born: 1856 Mar. 14 in Gainesville, IL
Died: 1951 May 30 in White City, KS
Commentary: An internet search revealed no town known as "Gainesville" extant in Illinois. However, her family did live in ZANESVILLE Twp., Montgomery Co., IL in 1870, so the reference to "Gainesville" doubtlessly refers to Zanesville instead. That being said, her parents were married in Macoupin Co., IL in 1853, so it's possible that she may have been actually born in Maucopin Co. rather than in Montgomery Co., IL.
