Minnie was the daughter of August Schramm and Johanna Suzanna "Hannah" Block. She married George Luft on 4 October 1886. They were the parents of 4 children were born: John of California, Anna (Mrs. (Charles Hix), Will of New Jersey and Charlie of Alta. In December of 1898 she and her husband moved from the farm into Odebolt and lived with George's sister, Mrs Freese.
