HENDRY COUNTY NEWS, July 20, 1933 - Lovell M. Allen, 70, died yesterday morning at his home on Stella St.(Fort Myers) He leaves his widow and four children, Miss LaVeta A. Allen of Fort Meyrs, J. F. Allen of St. Paul, Minn, Mrs. Grace Huss of LaBelle and Mrs. F. G. Fowler of Jamestown, PA...Because of failing health Mr. Allen came to Fort Myers three years ago from LaBelle, where he had made his home since 1912. Born in Allerton, Iowa, Dec. 4, 1862, Mr. Allen moved to Fort Scott, Kansas, where he married Miss Cecelia Seist in 1887. There he was employed for many years by the St. Louis and San Francisco railroad.
Mr. Allen was active in town and city affairs before his health failed. He served as one of the first commissioners of Glades County and was a member of the municipal waterworks board in Fort Scott.
