I'm still holding off on my Grandpas' bio because he was married twice...and had a total of 8 children. 2 are still living.

I want to post info on his first wife, and 2 of the 3 children from that marriage that have passed away.

Robert Carter Allen
Funeral services for Robert Carter Allen, 79 of Route 6 Pulaski were held Monday, November 7 at 2:00 p.m. at Carr and Erwin Chapel by the Rev. Mack Pinkelton and the Rev. Jimmy Chapman.
Mr. Allen died Sunday in Giles County Hospital.
A native of Giles County, he was the son of the late Jim and
Mary Ann Carpenter Allen. He had formerly made his home in
Louisville, KY. where he was employed by the L and N Railroad.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Louise Allen, a daughter, Mrs. P.L. Durkin, Washing, D.C., six sons, Wendell Allen, Larry Allen, Dale Allen, Ronnie Allen, Gastonia, NC. Robert Doyle Allen, Detroit, Mich. and Alvin Roger Allen, Walled, Mich. 4 brothers, Boyce Allen, Mt. Pleasant, John Allen, Louisville, Forrest Allen, Lewisburg and Andrew Allen, Columbis; 2 sisters, Mrs. C. B. Redden Atlanta, GA and Mrs. L. Wheeler, Pulaski, 13 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

I typed this as it was printed, typo's included. The obit neglects to mention that a daughter Wylene, passed away in 1958, a son in 1945 and several grandchildren from the 1960s

Note: Oldest son and 2nd youngest son living.

Wylene married a Riviera....although I am not sure that is the correct spelling, have not been able to find ANY records here for her or Alvin Allen
Alvin Roger Allen passed away in Michigan in 1988* date approx. I was trying to call Uncle Alvin and got his son, literally by picking up a name out of the phonebook, talk about 1 in a million..as I went by initials, and didn't know exactly where Alvin lived in Michigan. I called the night Wendall was hit by a car and killed instantly in SC
