Born Irene Retlich, Oct. 9, 1901, in Marinette, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernst Retlich, she attended school there and on Sept. 10, 1922, was married to Arthur B Ruh in Schleswig (Manitowoc County).
Survivors are her husband; eight sons, Eugene of New Holstein, Victor of Des Moines, Iowa, Elwood, Arthur Jr., Kenneth and Robert of Milwaukee, James, stationed in Japan with the US Air Force, and Lloyd of Kiel; five daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Elda) Farrar, Mrs. Daniel (Fayth) Sobecke, Miss Le Ann Ruh and Mrs. Lloyd (Audrey) O'Donnell of Milwaukee and Mrs. Donald (Ione) Gregoire of Sheboygan Falls; 24 grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Ella Lulloff of Milwaukee.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Erbe-Evjen Funeral Home in New Holstein with the Rev. Charles A Koch, pastor of the St. John's United Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be in New Holstein City Cemetery.
