BILOXI, Miss. — Alton E. Milligan, 82, of Biloxi departed this life Tuesday, May 12, 2009.
He was born at Whisp on June 8, 1926, to Enoch and Herbie Milligan. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He served in the Navy during World War II, stationed in Japan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Edward Milligan and Noel Milligan.
He is survived by four sisters, Nina Barlow of Paragould, Mary Rogers of Searcy, Opaline Lincoln of Millersville, Mo., and Naomi Smith of Batesville.
The family of Mr. Milligan expresses their sincere gratitude to all the doctors and staff at the Veterans Administration Hospital for their loving care and concern during his time with them. The family especially would like to thank John Dobbs and Joe Powers, who visited him, encouraging him in his Christian faith and attending to his needs.
Military graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Biloxi National Cemetery with Bill Denton officiating.
