Flora B. Pancake, 98, a resident of Miller's Merry Manor Convalescent Center near Hope, died there at midnight Feb. 18. She formerly resided at 1039 Lafayette.
She was a former elementary teacher, having taught in Hope and Columbus schools. In August 1962, she was presented a gold service pin for 20 years of teaching in the Hope Schools.
Mrs. Pancake was born April 21, 1885, in Bartholomew County, the daughter of John H. and Margaret Carnes Bradford. She was the widow of Frederick Pancake, who died June 12, 1954. She was a member of First Christian Church.
Survivors include one niece, Ruby Reynolds of Indianapolis, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
