George M. Bearss
George M. BEARSS, 82, formerly of the Reiter neighborhood southwest of Rochester, died at 6 p.m. Friday in Dukes Memorial Hospital, Peru. He had been in failing health for several weeks.
He was born Sept. 6, 1904 in Fulton County to George R. and Jesse McBRIDE BEARSS. A farmer, he had lived most of his life in Fulton County. On Nov. 23, 1927 in Fulton County he married Merceda Eleanor BOYD, who died Jan. 11, 1980. On Nov. 9, 1981 in Mexico he married Clara SNYDER, who survives. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Gideon Society and the Indiana Farm Bureau.
Surviving with the wife are two daughters, Mrs. Don (Frances) SMITH, Logansport, and Mrs. Juan (Janis) GARCIA, Pueblo, Mexoco two sons, Wendell B. BEARSS, Rochester, and Gresham A. "Bud" BEARSS, Berne; three step-daughters, Mrs. Kermit (Anita) BURROUS, Mexico; Mrs. Bill (Virginia) LANGSTON, Orlando, Fla., and Mrs. Bill (Vivian) CLARK, Littleton, Colo. fifteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; fourteen step-grandchildren, and five step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gresham [BEARSS].
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Zimmerman Brothers Funeral Home, Rochester, with the Rev. Donald E. MAUGHAN officiating. Burial will be in the Rochester I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday. Memorials may be made to charity.

George Bearss
The name of a step-son, David SNYDER of Mexico, was inadvertently omitted from the list of survivors of George BEARSS that was submitted to The Sentinel Saturday.
Mr. Bearss, 82, formerly of the Reiter neighborhood, died at 6 p.m. Friday in Dukes Memorial Hospital, Peru. Services were to be today at the Zimmerman Brothers Funeral Home, Rochester.
