Gertrude L. HOLLAND, 82, of 929 Jackson Blvd., died at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Bremen Hospital following a brief illness.
She was born Feb. 17, 1902 in Wayne Township to John Robert and Mary Elizabeth HARRIGAN McLOCHIN. She was a lifelong resident of this area. She was married Aug. 13, 1932 in Kewanna to Lawrence E. "Red" HOLLAND, who died July 9, 1973. She was a retired elementary school teacher, an AARP official, and a member of the Senior Citizens Club, "31" Club, Fulton County Democratic-Women's Club, the St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society.
Surviving are five daughters, Linda SINGH, Austin, Texas; Mrs. Thomas (Jean) RUST, Converse; Mrs. Wayne (Mary) ALBER and Mrs. Stanley (Rosalee) POLLARD, both of Bremen, and Mrs. Byron (Margaret) THOMPSON, Warren; eleven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Eleven brothers and sisters preceded in death.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Richard PUETZ officiating. Burial will be in the Rochester I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call at the Zimmerman Brothers Funeral Home in Rochester from 2 to 8 p.m.Friday. The Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Cancer Society or to the Manitou Training Center.
