He was a retired school teacher, assistant principal and guidance counselor for Scott County School Dist. 2, and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include wife Laura June Stickels; two sons, James M. Stickels and Joseph W. Stickels; two daughters, Jennifer Stickels Mohon and Julie Stickels King; one sister, Thelma Stickels Naylor; and three brothers, Ben, Charles and Clyde Stickels.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Salem Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday, and from 8 to 9 a.m. Monday at Weathers Funeral Home in Salem, and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
