Born in Scurry County, he moved to Cottle County in 1894. He was preceded in death by three wives. He was married to Martha Evelyn Smith in 1884, Ada McWhorter in 1900 and Sally Nix in 1911. Survived by four sons - Jack Latham, D.F. Latham, G.V. Latham, Barney Latham; five daughters - Mrs. J.M. Turner, Mrs. Clarence Huff, Mrs. Joe Wood, Mrs. J.M. Robinson, Mrs. W.L. Kemp; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
