SOCKETT, Sadie - Peacefully, at Royal Terrace Nursing Home, Palmerston, in her 97th year, Sadie (Sarah Ann) Sockett. Beloved wife of the late George Sockett (1971). Dear mother of Doreen Sullivan of Edmonton, Bob and his wife Blanche of Edmonton, Ron and his wife Gloria of Palmerston, Marlene and her husband Jack McFadden of Guelph, Barry and his wife Linda of Regina and Nancy and her partner Ken Graber of Brussels. She will be missed by 23 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren and her sister-in-law, Grace Sockett of Walkerton. Predeceased by brothers, John, Tom and George Scarlett and sisters, Tresa Fletcher, Ida Peters and Ethel Bell. Mrs. Sockett was a former resident of Fergus and an employee of Groves Memorial Hospital. She was a Past Noble Grand of the Rebeka Lodge and had received her 50 year pin. Friends will be received at the Thomson & Collins Funeral Home, 160 St. David Street N., Fergus on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service in the chapel on Friday, March 28, 2003 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Stephen Huntley of Melville United Church officiating. Interment Belsyde Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
