Alice Ann, and her brother Arlo, was 3 weeks old when she was orphaned and found in a brush pile. Shortly after being rescued she moved to Durham, NC. Alice Ann was named after "Alice's Restuarant", a song by Arlo Guthrie. Alice loved to climb up on things. Mom would lower the top half of the windows, so Alice could sit up high. When still small enough she would crawl under things and hide. She loved to help with the laundry, and especially enjoyed playing with the socks. She liked sneaking food off her mom's plate. When allowed outside she loved to climb trees and play in the grass. Alice lived a short, but full life. She was 5 yo when she was diagnosed with diabetes and a severe liver infection. She is buried in the small wooded area behind the house in Durham.
