Jan Rose Payne, 65, of Bentonville Ark., died Monday, May 3, 2004, at Northwest Medical Center of Benton County in Bentonville. She was born, in Harlan County, Ky., to Carlos Presley and Della Napier Presley. She married Clarence L. Payne on Nov. 21, 1959. She moved to northwest Arkansas 38 years ago from Cincinnati, Ohio. She was a retired customer service manager for Wal-Mart. She attended the First Christian Church in Springdale, Ark. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence L. Payne, in 1987.
Survivors include three daughters and two sons-inlaw, Karla Payne of Springdale, Ark., Tammy Wear and Gary Wear of Bentonville, and Missy Hagy and Paul Hagy of Franklin, Tenn.; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Jeff Payne of Dallas, Texas, Tommy Payne and Brandi Payne of Hindsville, Ark., and Jon Payne and Kristin Payne of Springdale; a stepson, Randall Payne and his wife Susie Payne of Fayetteville, Ark.; a brother, Carlos Keith Pressley of Tampa, Fla.; a sister, Betty Michael of Lafayette, La.; seven grandchildren, Jordan Wear of Bentonville, Baileigh Payne of Springdale, Audra Payne and Lance Payne, both of Hindsville, and Kristy Escoe, Randa Payne and Cory Payne, all of Fayetteville.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 5, at the Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale, Ark., with the family receiving friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 6, at the Sisco Funeral Chapel with Charlie Foster.
Burial will be at the Elm Springs Cemetery in Elm Springs, Ark.
Pallbearers will be David McKinney, Rick Lentine, Sammy Elderton, Gary Wear, Steve Harp and Mike Allen.
Honorary pallbearers will be Donald "Duck" Shebesta, Kenneth Cowan, Esther Graham and Steve Dime.
