Paul Newton Adams, 83, of Southport, FL passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at Bay Medical Center in Panama City. He was born in Miami, FL and moved to this area in 2001 from Hilliard, FL. Mr. Adams was retired from the United States Navy where he served during World War II in the North African Invasion, the Invasion of Salerno, the Invasion of Southern France, and the Invasion of Okinawa. He also served during Korea and Vietnam. He held memberships in the Fleet Reserve Association, the Amvets and the VFW.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cloise Eluin Adams and Gladys Adams Martin nee Hildebrand, His Wife Frances Lorraine Adams nee Oudeans, his daughter, Paula Lee Townsend nee Adams, and his brother, Richard L. Adams.

Survivors include his two sons, Paul Adams, II, and wife, Elaine, of Youngstown, FL, and Glenn Adams and wife, Judy, of Goochland, VA., his Son-in-law Sam Townsend of Hilliard FL, His sister, Viola Istvan nee Adams of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, his grandchildren, Tabatha Frances Marlow nee Adams and husband, William, of Fountain, FL , Jaime Lorraine Bare nee Townsend and husband, Dean, of Hilliard, FL, Paul N. Adams, III and Shawn M. Adams, both of Ohio, and great-grandchildren, Anna Lee Marlow, Zoey Marie Marlow, and Zane Bare.

Funeral services for Mr. Adams will be held on Monday, April 27, 2009, at 11 AM at the Southerland Family Chapel with Chaplain Virgil Tillman officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services, from 10 to 11 AM at the funeral home.
