Mrs. Mary Clint Egan Irion, member of a prominent North Louisiana family, died at the home of her daughter, Miss Mary Clint Egan Irion in Baton Rouge on Tuesday, July 6. Mrs. Irion was a former educator, having studied and taught abroad in several schools. She was later dean of Judson College in Marion, Ala. She resided in California for several years prior to 1941 when she moved to Baton Rouge to make her home with here daughter, Miss Mary Clint Irion, of the staff of the state university.
The body was shipped to Memphis, Tenn. for cremation, preceding which funeral services were conducted at the home of Dr. Clifford Irion, son of the deceased. Services were conducted by Dr. Lee, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Memphis. After cremation, the ashes were sent to Mt. Lebanon for interment in the family plot there.
Survivors include two sons, Clifford M. Irion of Memphis Tenn. and Major Val Irion of Shreveport; one daughter, Miss Mary Clint Irion; one sister, Miss Lavinia Egan of Mt. Lebanon; and two grandsons, Lieut. James E. Irion of Washington and Jack Irion of Memphis, Tenn.
