Obituary of Thomas F. Abel
Thomas Franklin Abel, age 86 years, was born in Ohio, November 15th, 1870, and came to Texas in 1900 and located in the Keeter Community of Wise County, where he lived eight years and met and married Miss Ida Zorns, March 16th, 1902. They moved one mile north of Boyd in 1908, and lived in that community the remainder of their lives. Five children were born to the union and Mrs. Abel and three other children precede him in death. He has maintained his home, where he has lived many years and where he suffered stroke Thursday morning, June 27th and departed this life on arrival at a Decatur hospital at 1:30 p.m.
He is survived by two sons, Frank Abel and Aster Abel of Boyd, one grandson and two granddaughters, seven great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Rosa Seibolt of Chewalah, Washington. During his earlier, and more active life, he was a member of the Boyd Baptist Church and also an active member of the Boyd Masonic Lodge.
Funeral services were held at the Boyd Baptist Church Saturday June 29th, at 2 p.m., by Pastor Rev. E. U. Willard of Boyd.
