William Allen Bastin

William Allen Bastin, 78, Indianapolis, died Tuesday at his home. He was the father of a Shelbyville woman.

Born Aug. 18, 1920, in Boyle County, Ky., he was the son of Cornelius and Ethel (Yaste) Bastin. He was married to Maxine (Robey) Bastin, and she survives.

Mr. Bastin had been an electrician for 32 years at Western Electric Co. before retiring.

Survivors include four daughters, Marilyn Thompson, Shelbyville, Sharon Munsey and Nancy Rogers, both of Indianapolis, and Jo Ellen Pittman, Camby; three sisters, Kathleen Berry and Barbara Feltman, both of Indianapolis, and Norma Jean Glass, Glen Ellyn, Ill.; two brothers, Robert Bastin and Cornelius Bastin, both of Indianapolis; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at G.H. Hermann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, Indianapolis. Burial will be in Washington Park East Cemetery, Indianapolis.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
