Charles Edward Alber, 83, 995 Michigan Street, died Wednesday afternoon at 12 o'clock in the Sincroft Nursing home, North Manchester, following an illness of four months.
The decedent was born Dec. 13, 1866 in Switzerland to George and Margaret (Ply) Alber. He was married to Mary Smith who preceded him in death.
He was formerly a farmer and had lived in Wabash for 22 years.
Survivors include one son, Clarence Alber, Wabash; one daughter, Mrs. Fred Murphy, LaFontaine; one sister, Mrs. Bert Talmage, Wabash; 12 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. One daughter preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10 o'clock in the Hoover-Miner funeral home with the Dr. W.W. Wimberly officiating. Burial will be in Falls cemetery. The body will remain in the funeral home where friends may call.
