She was the daughter of Lonnie P. Cheek and Blanche Allen Cheek. She graduated from Latta High School and worked as a seamstress for sewing factories in Tishomingo and Madill. At one time she was city clerk for the town of Ravia. She was selected as an honorary member of Ravia Fire Department. Before her retirement she had office manager at Sooner Trading Company for more than 18 years. She married Maynard R. "Sockey" McSwain April 17, 1961, at Gainesville, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on March 9, 1981; a daughter, LuAnna Lynn McSwain; a sister, Betty; two brothers, A.M. and R.V.; and an infant brother. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Stacy and Freddy Hopper, Ada; two sons and daughters-in-law, Donnie and Suzette McSwain and Terry and Nancy McSwain, all of Ravia; a sister, Anna Belle Watkins, Bristow; a brother, Frank Cheek, Roberta, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Bearers were Doddie Nanney, Mac McCutcheon, Randy Bevill, Monty Latshaw, Joe Heath and Joe Elrod. Honorary bearers were Bud Woods, Jeff Earles, Doris Pennington and members of Ravia Fire Department.
