NAKINA -- Horace Edgar Reaves, 76, of Gore's Lake Road, died Thursday, May 21, 2009 at his home. He was born on Nov. 10, 1932 in Columbus County. He was a son of the late Elzie L. and Queenie Faulk Reaves. He was a United States Air Force veteran.
Mr. Reaves retired after 30 years as a data processor for IBM. He was the owner and operator of Beachway Laundromat, Whiteville and Beach Country Laundromat, Shallotte. He was also a life-long member and a Trustee of the Bethesda United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, two sons,a daughter,seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Final rites will be conducted at 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 24, at the Bethesda United Methodist Church by the Rev. C.L. Fitzgerald. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Brunswick Funeral Service & Crematory of Shallotte is handling the arrangements.
Family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the church and at other times at the home, 52 Gore Lake Road.Casketbearers will be Wade Gore, Glenn Reaves, Barry McCellan, Gib Gibson, Billy L. Gore, and Jim Walters.
