Ernest E. Ocker of Hewitt, a former Stevens Publishing employee, died Thursday at a local hospital. He was 63.
Mr. Ocker was born Apr. 18, 1929 in Fifield, Wis., where he graduated from high school. He was a veteran of the Korean War and was stationed in Germany. He married Heidi Hoyer in 1953.
Mr. Ocker worked in the publishing and advertising business most of his life in Chicago, Ill., until his retirement in 1985. He then moved to Waco, where he worked for Stevens Publishing and the American Red Cross.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Susan Ocker Fisher of Walnut Creek, Calif; three sisters, Harriet House and Nancy Crafton, both of North Pole, Alaska, and Gladys Borman of Glidden, Wis.; and three brothers, Donald Ocker, Ronald Ocker and Gary Ocker, all of Fifield, Wis.
The family will receive visitors from 3 to 6 p.m. today at Connally-Compton West Waco Drive Funeral Home.
