born June 1, 1835 in Henry Co. Tn. and he died Feb. 4, 1929. He served with the 2nd Ark Inf.in the Co. D, as a pvt, 1st sgt. and Lt.in the Civil War. Edward (known as Uncle Ned) fathered 16 children with three wives.. He 1st md. Armonda E. Chaver, three children were born to this union. He then married Sarah Barnard. She died in childbirth with their 9th child. He then married Eliza J Sisk Boyd. they parented the last 4 children.
