Charley was born in Iowa, the son of Homer E. LeFurgey and Bertha Ober. He was the fourth child and the second son of eleven children. His paternal grandparents were William Henry LeFurgey/LaFurge of Prince Edward Island and Sarah Lorena Pratt of Bradford County PA who pioneered in Windsor, Fayette County IA.
At the age of 2 or 3 (~1893), Charley moved to Tennessee with his parents and 4 siblings, and then moved again ~1900, with 7 siblings, to Rock twp, Nobel County OK to be near his "Great Uncle George" (George W. LeFurgey, brother to his paternal Grandfather, William Henry LeFurgey / LaFurge).
Charley married Maggie Anglemeyer with whom he sired three children in Oklahoma: William Charles LeFurgey, Stella O. LeFurgey, and Homer LeFurgey.
