James married his 1st wife Cornelia Rawlins in 1922 and divorced in 1933. They had no children.

James married his 2nd wife Virginia Marian Seymour in 1936.

Together, they had TWO (2) CHILDREN; Virginia Anne White BAKER and Gail Cecelia White JEFFARES.

James invented a motor scooter that would fold-up and was dropped from an airplane which he donated to the Army; he was a master craftsman, designed and built an electric pottery wheel for a potter in Carrollton, GA.

James died from Alzheimer's Disease.
