NICHOLS - Felicitas Theresa Braun, 86, of Nichols, Iowa died Wednesday night, Jan. 13, 1993, at Mercy Hospital in Davenport. Services were held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at the Ralph J. Wittich Funeral Home. The Rev. Tim Walker of the Nichols United Methodist Church officiated.

Pallbearers were her grandsons, Doug Braun, Victor Braun, Kevin Plumb, Alan Plumb, Kerry Baxter, Tom Baxter, Jody Baxter and Scott Baxter. Burial was at the Nichols Cemetery.

Visitation was from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday. Memorials were made to the Nichols United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Braun was born April 17, 1906, at West Liberty, a daughter of John L. and Mary Spratford Mills.

She married Harry L. Braun on May 20, 1931, in Muscatine and spent their married life farming in the Nichols community.

Survivors include a son, Virgil L. Braun of Nichols; two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Shirley) Plumb of Davenport, and Mrs. Ron (Marilyn) Baxter of DeWitt; 10 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one brother, Arley Mills of Muscatine.

She was a 50-year member of the Eastern Star, and a member of the Rebecca Lodge and Circle of Friendship. She was a lifetime member of the Nichols United Methodist Church and a member of the Women's Society of the church.
Felicitas loved to read and crochet.

She graduated from West Liberty High School and had taught at various country schools in Muscatine County for several years. Felicitas worked on the farm and in the fields along with her husband. She and her husband were active with their children in 4-H and in the community.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1968, one sister,Arvilla VanZandt, two brothers, Elzie & Milburn Mills and four great-grandchildren.
