Washington, Iowa - Verda Braun, 74, of Washington, formerly of Plainfield,Iowa died Wednesday, August 9, 2000, at the McCreedy House in Washington.
Services will be at 10:30 A.M. Monday at the Nichols United Methodist Church with the Revs. Bret Best and Betsey Neipert officiating. Burial will be at the Nichols Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ron Stump, Richard Braun, Dennis Braun, Daryl Braun, Deron Hakert, Kevin Braun, Scott Clark and Bob Fergson. A luncheon will be held at Nichols United Methodist Church following the service.
Visitation will be from 2-7 P.M. Sunday at the George M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home.
Mrs. Braun was born June 11, 1926, in Pike Township in Muscatine County, the daughter of Reuben and Gladys Hartrum Nash. She married Clifford Leroy Braun on May 20, 1945, in Nichols.
She was a member of the Nichols United Methodist Church.
She was a secretary and receptionist for many years. She enjoyed doing crafts and camping.
Survivors include a daughter, DeAnn Kay Braun Hakert of Washington; three sons, Richard Roy Braun of Lenexa, Kansas, Dennis Lee Braun of Mount Vernon and Daryl Dean Braun of Marion; nine grandchildren; two step grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Danny Nash of Marshalltown and a sister, Alice Kinikin of San Diego, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifford on May 16, 1996; a sister, Margaret Holt and a brother, Walter Nash.
