David Earl Bell was an orchardist (Cottage Grove) in Wenatchee, Chelan Co., WA and also a volunteer police officer. He was working at an Elks dance in downtown Wenatchee and in the process of trying to break up a fight among a couple of drunks was kicked so hard it caused his heart to stop, and his death. There are volumes of newspaper articles and the court proceeding of two murder trials against Warren Wilsey, the first one a hung jury.
