Deseret, Millard Co., Feb 10.-Mrs. Lucinda Petty, one of Millard County's most aged citizens, passed from this life to the great beyond on Jan. 26. She was born Jan 29 18186, in New Jersey, and had she lived three days longer would have been 90 years old. In 1832 she was married to Caleb Ayers and with him joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1842. They the gathered with the Saints to Nauvoo, in which place her husband died, Sister Petty was personally acquainted with the Prophet Joseph Smith; heard him preach and prophesy on many occasions, and was a faithful adherent to the truths revealed through him. She came to Utah in 1852, and the year following was married to Albert Petty. They first lived in Sanpete County, but moved to Dixie in 1862, where she was again left a widow by the death of her second husband. She then moved to this place, where she has lived for more than 20 years. She was blessed with a great posterity, numbering as follows; eleven children, 80 grandchildren, 128 Great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great-grandchildren, a total of 237.
