Alvin R. Best was the son of William and Caroline (Larson) Best. He was born January 17, 1896 in Black River Falls, Wisconsin. He was five foot five inches tall and had a fair complexion.
MILITARY RECORD:
Enlisted April 26, 1917 at Fort Lewis, Washington; Assigned to Army Medical Corps; and discharged on July 9, 1919 at Fort Lewis as a Private First Class.
He was a life-long bachelor. His brother Sidney C. Best resided in Lake Bay, Washington. Mr. Best died October 21, 1964 at the Western Washington Home Hospital. Graveside services at the Home Cemetery were conducted on October 26th with a minister and American Legion Post #182 officiating.
