Death of an Old Settler*
Thursday evening, 13th inst., Lanty Roach died at this home in this township, at the advanced age of 83 years. His remains were interred at the Sigler cemetery, at this place Friday afternoon.
Deceased was a resident of Madison county for upwards of forty years and served a term many years ago as deputy sheriff of the county. He lived in this township about thirty-eight years, and ran a hotel in Frankton in 1858 and 1859. His wife, aged about 70, and four children, survive him. Old Uncle Lanty, as he was called, was a good man, and will be sadly missed by his many friends.
