Father of Brian, Lisa, Jerrad.

Paul Francis Bennett was born on February 3, 1943, the third son born to Edgar and Elsie Bennett. He grew up in Continental and graduated from Continental High School. By the time he graduated, he was already helping his dad with his plumbing and heating business.
Paul was in the Naval Reserves, and he went on active duty with the U. S. Navy on July 4, 1962. He served as a machinist mate on the USS Forrestal, at that time our largest aircraft carrier. He was assigned to the engine crew of the main propulsion unit. While he was on board, the ship sailed through the Mediterranean Sea, stopping at several ports. When the Forrestal returned to the US, Paul's two years were almost over, so he was released from active duty before the ship sailed on its next tour. He returned home in May of 1964.
Paul married Carolyn Reiner, daughter of Allen and Jessie Reiner on July 10, 1966. They are the parents of three children: Brian Keith born December 20, 1966; Lisa Kay born October 7, 1968 and Jerrad Paul born December 13, 1976. They made their home in Continental. Paul and Carolyn divorced in 1977.
On December 29, 1982, Paul married Bonnie Sue Bidlack in Defiance, Ohio. Bonnie is the daughter of Virgil and Velma Stuckey. They live northwest of Continental on Road 22 B.
For many years, Paul has volunteered at the Historical Society in Defiance County and in New Haven where he works on and with steam engines and locomotives.
When his dad retired from the plumbing and heating business in 1988, Paul went to work as head of maintenance for the Continental School district. He retired from there a few years before his death.
