Clarence E. Broeker was born on December 14, 1909 to Herman A. and Elizabeth Steir Broeker. He was born in Donaldson, Indiana. He was one of five children.

On May 6, 1949, he married Dorothy Marie Peters. Together, they had six children. Surviving with his wife are, Linda Johnson, Culver; Joe and Misti Broeker, Knox; Paul, Mary, John, and James, all at home. There are also three grandchildren. Scott and Valerie Johnson and Sean Broeker.

Mr. Broeker was an farmer, avid fisherman, gardener, and enjoyed life to the fullest. He and his wife ran the Hibbard General Store. He was also retired from Plymouth Homes where he worked for many years.

Clarence Emil Broeker 68, passed away at his home on January 18, 1978 after an eleven-month illness. Funeral arrangements were taken care of by Bonine Funeral Home. Burial took place in Burr Oak Cemetery.
