Alex R. Kijowski, 39, of 1035 Johnston Ave. Kittanning, died at 3:50 p.m. Saturday (April 6, 1957) in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital after suffering a heart attack the day before.
Kijowski was born Sept. 18, 1917 in Ford Cliff, son of John and Josephine (Gongola) Kijowski.
Surviving are his wife, Victoria (Hedek) Kijowski and the following children: Thomas, Michael, Davil, Theresa, Vincent, and Catherine, all at home; his father, John Kijowski of Ford City; five brothers, Edmond of Ford City, Frank of Kittanning, and Leo, Leonard and Walter, at home; three sisters, Mrs. Rose Cleslinski of Yonkers, N.Y., Mrs. Mary Copp of Hampton, Va., Janet, at home.
Kijowski was a veteran of World War II, having served as a S/sgt. in the 467th Fighter Squadron of the 508th Fighter Group. He also spent time in the Pacific area.
Friends are being received at Faykosh Funeral Home, Ford City. A military funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St Francis de Paul's Church, Ford City.
The Rev. Francis Lizik, church pastor, will be officating minister.
Burial will be in St. Francis cemetery at Cadogan.
