MRS. JAMES M. BAKER IS CLAIMED BY DEATH
Half Sister of Mrs. E.B. Jeffress Passes at Lownderville, SC, Funeral Sunday.
News has been received here of the death Saturday at Lowndesille S.C. of Mrs. James Marion Baker, a half sister of Mrs. E.B. Jeffress. The funeral was held Sunday at Lowndesville. Mrs. Baker was the daughter of the late Lawrence A. Adams, and his wife, Mrs. Josephine Tate Adams of Morganton, and was born in Augusta, GA.
For eight years during Democratic control of the United States senate, Mr. Baker was secretary of that body;
Surviving are her husband J.M. Baker and three sons, Lawrence Adams Baker of Washington; J. Marion Baker, Jr. of Lowndesville, and Mac Baker of Utica, NY.
