Last rites for Mrs. Claude Day, 63, of Route 1, Itasca, who passed away in Cleburne Friday, September 27, were conducted from the Hollingsworth Chapel in Itasca Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.
Rev. Nelson R. Hawkins of Itasca was the officiating minister.
Mrs. Vera F. Day was a native of Files Valley, Texas. She was born March 1, 1905, the daughter of the late E.M. and Maggie Wiseman.
She had lived virtually all of her life in this community. She was married to Claude Day 40 years ago. Her husband preceded her in death Nov. 2, 1957.
Mrs. Day was a long time member of the Baptist Church.
Interment was in the Files Valley Cemetery under direction of Hollingsworth Funeral Home.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Eva Jo Stelly and Mrs. Maggie Allmon of Cleburne; one son, Billy W. Day of Sweden.
Among other survivors are brother, Vane Wiseman of Cleburne, and a sister, Mrs. Ira Duke, of Covington. There are six grandchildren.
