J. W. Butcher, 71 years old, died at 7:30 o'clock Saturday night at his home in the north-west part of Picher. Surviving are two sons, James Edward Butcher and George Butcher, both of Picher; two daughters, Mrs. Nellie Frances Romhilt or Picher and Mrs. Lillie Mae Thornhill of Cody, Wyo; a brother Lew Butcher of Picher, and two sisters, Mrs. Edde Glover of Fall River, Kas., and Mrs. M. Stoksall of Elrado, Mo. Funeral services were held at 4:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Picher Assembly of God church. The pastor, the Rev. James Davis, officiated. Burial was in Greenlawn cemetery with the Durnil Funeral home in charge.
