Charlotte "Lottie" Lodema was the first born daughter of two, Ella Lucinda, and two sons, Orville and Charles Seymour to George and Adelia Jane Horton Moore.
The Moores did adopt a girl, Catherine Bryant Moore,this fact certainly threw Catherine's descendants into a turmoil.
All the Moore's children were born in New York State.
1865 the Moores, with their children moved to Jackson Co IA, then to Story Co IA where on Oct 21, 1875 Lottie married Allen Joshua Barton, who was a farmer, and eventually a rancher in MT. Their marriage was blessed with five sons, Freddie Lee, George Walter, Charles Allen, Arthur Joshua and Rex Racine. Last born was their daughter, Effie L.M. Barton.
After Allen died 1919 Lottie moved to Olympian WA where she spent the rest of her life with her daughter, Effie and family.

Mrs. Lottie Lodema Barton, mother of Mrs. Harry L. Palmquist, died in Olympia Monday following a lengthy illness.
She was born September 23, 1851, in New York. she had lived in Olympia with her daughter since 1919.
She was a member of the 1st Methodist church. Surviving besides the daughter are four sons, Freddie Lee, George Walter, Charles Allen, Arthur Joshua and Rex Racine. Last born was their daughter, Effie L.M. Barton.
