Services for Holmes (Preacher) Cummings, 72, of Smylie St., Brookhaven, were held July 10 at 2:30 p.m. in Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel ( North Jackson Street) with burial in Easthaven Cemetery. Layman Elton "Buzzy" Cummings and Dr. Martin Case conducted the service.
Mr. Cummings died July 8,1988 at his home.
He was a trucking contractor, a Baptist, and a native of Yazoo County.
He is survived by his daughter, Katherine C. Norvell of California; his step-daughter, Patricia (Pat) Arnold of Brookhaven; his twin brother, Homer Cummings of Brookhaven; his twin sisters, Doris Vance of Vicksburg and Dorothy Ash of Stone Mountain, Ga.; two sisters-in-law, Audrey Cummings of Smithdale and Aletha Cummings of Brookhaven; his brother-in-law, Art Ash of Stone Mountain, Ga.; 23 nieces and nephew.
