Abbott, Michael G. Saginaw, Michigan Passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2009 at his home, surrounded by his family. Age 72 years. Michael G. Abbott was born on May 10, 1936 in Saginaw to the late Frank and Mary (Pytlewski) Abbott. He married his loving wife of 51 years Joan Kenny on March 2, 1957 in Saginaw. She survives him. Mike was an owner/partner of Tri-City Plumbing for 50 years. He was an active member of St. Helen Catholic Church and loved to deer hunt. Surviving besides his wife Joan is his son, Michael J. (Patricia) Abbott of Saginaw; two daughters, Catherine Abbott of Midland and Carrie (Gary) Munroe of Saginaw; eight grandchildren, Jaime (fiancee' Chris) Abbott, Katie Abbott, Kelly Abbott, Sara Munroe, Lisa Munroe, Megan Munroe, G. Alex Munroe, and Mollie Munroe; two sisters, Margaret Hardy and Doris Stuedemann; three brothers, Richard Abbott, John "Jack" (Beverly) Abbott and E. Anthony (Mary Jane) Abbott; one brother-in-law, Patrick M. Kenny and one sister-in-law, Anne Day. He was preceded in death by two sisters; Mary Volk and Joann Furlo; two brothers, Edward J. Abbott and Frank P. Abbott. Mike's family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Samuel Shaheen for his loving care. FUNERAL: Michael's Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 2, 2009 at St. Helen Catholic Church, 2445 N. Charles St. Rev. Fr. Joseph A. Schabel will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow in St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends may call at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Sunday, February 1, 2009 from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Vigil Service honoring Michael will be held at the funeral home on Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m. under the direction of Rev. Fr. Emmett Marceau and Joyce DeKarske. Michael will lie in state at St. Helen Catholic Church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
