J.T. RUSHING was the son of Civil War veteran John W. RUSHING and Mary C. (Murphy) RUSHING. His first name is often Joel or occasionally Joseph, but apparently he was known as J.T. He was a farmer. He resided in Perry County, Illinois all of his 39 years, first in his parent's household (1860 and 1870 censuses) and later (1880 census) in his own household in Grand Cote.
