Cmdr. Bobby Charles Carson, 54, of Route 3, Hartford, died Friday, July 19, 1985, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Memphis, Tenn. He was born in Ohio County, was a Navy chaplain, a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars and a member of Beulah Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Hartford. Survivors include his wife, Betty Jean Carson; a son, Bobby Charles Carson II of Cave City; a daughter, Laura Ruth Carson of Denton, Texas; his parents, Kell and Eloise Carson of Hartford; a brother, William David Carson, and a sister, Kay Carson, both of Hartford. Services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home, Hartford. U.S. Navy graveside services and burial at Carson Cemetery, Hartford. Visitation after 4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The family requests that expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, Tenn.
