Husband of Olga A. Gamble. Also survived by children, Christine "Sandy" Gamble, Rebecca "Becky" Rich, Alvey "Rocky" Gamble, Robert A. "Bobby" Croston, Timothy "Buck" Croston, & Gregory Croston; grandchildren, Robin, Bryan, Kevin, & Andy; five great-grandchildren.

Interment followed funeral services conducted Thursday, May 22, 2008.

Buck was a life long resident of La Plata, MD, served in the U. S. Navy Seabees during World War II. He was a heavy equipment operator for 30 years with Brandywine Auto Parts.

One of the founding fathers of what was then known as Buffalo Sand and Gravel in La Plata. He built the first Helicopter pad at the hospital in La Plata.

He was a member of the La Plata Lions Club, Moose Lodge, Bel Alton Volunteer Fire Department, La Plata Volunteer Fire Department and the Masons.

Son of the late Alvey Dent Gamble and Irene Mae Grimm Gamble.

Survived by his wife Olga Ann Gamble; daughters Christine "Sandy" Gamble of Waldorf, MD and Rebecca "Becky" (Kirk) Rich of King George, VA; sons Alvey "Rocky" (Carol) Gamble of Welcome, MD, Robert A. "Bobby" (Bonnie) Croston of Waldorf, MD, Timothy "Buck" Croston of Hughesville, MD and Gregory Croston of Chesapeake Beach, MD; four grandchlidren Robin, Bryan, Kevin and Andy; five great grandchildren.

Visitation on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 from 2-4 and 6-8PM with Masonic Services at 7:30PM at the Raymond Funeral Chapel La Plata, Maryland.

Funeral Service on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at 11AM at the Raymond Funeral Chapel La Plata, Md. Clergy will be Reverend Mark Roberson. Pallbearers: Robert, Timothy, and Gregory Croston, Bryan and Kevin Gamble and Kirk Rich. Honorary Pallbearers: Harry Ritter, Herbert C. Pusey III, Grant and Chuck Gamble, Leroy Buckler and Snowden Schwab and the U. S. Navy Honor Guard. Interment at Mt. Rest Cemetery La Plata, Md.
