Eldest daughter of George Wright and Martha Ellen Wright, nee Monnett, Helen Wright was known in her youth of inheriting her mother's horsemanship skills. Her talents were well known.

According to Bucyrus newspapers, after hosting an evening holiday party, Helen mounted her favorite horse and planned to escort guests out to the road. However the horse lost its footing on ice, reared up and fell, crushing Helen under its body. Badly injured, she was carried to the family home where she died within hours of the accident.

Helen is buried at Monnett Chapel Cemetery with her infant sister Mattie.

Her parents George and Martha Ellen Monnett are buried in Marion Cemetery.

Helen was also the grandchild of Abraham and Catherine Monnett, who are also buried at Monnett Chapel Cemetery.
