Mart Larsen Dies At Age 92

Preston - Almartin (Mart) Larsen, 92, one of Cache Valley's older residents, died Tuesday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Antel (Thelma) Inglet in Logan.

He was born at Logan, Dec. 25, 1868, a son of Christen John and Enger Margeretta Pederson Larsen. He married Ellen Frances Comish, Oct. 25, 1892, in Logan temple. She died Feb. 1, 1937. They were parents of 12 children. Mr. Larsen was a farmer by occupation, living in the Preston area until the past 13 years which he has spent at Lava Hot Springs.

As a youth he hauled lumber from the canyons during the construction of Logan temple and assisted in construction of early railroads into the valley.

An active member of the church, Mr. Larsen had served in various capacities in Sunday School and priesthood quorums, and at time of death he was a High Priest.

Survivors include nine sons and daughters: Fenton, Denzil and Mrs. Elias (Alberta) Larsen, Preston; Mrs. Ray Giesler (Pearl) of Boise; Mrs. Harris Monson, (Loreta) of Las Vegas, Nev.; Mrs. Artel Inglet, (Thelma) and Mrs. Clarence Edwards (Helen), Logan; Eugene, Ogden; and Mrs. Earl Johnson (Esther), Boise; 49 grandchildren; 78 great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. in Franklin Stake House. Friends may call at Webb mortuary Friday evening and Saturday prior to the services. Burial will be in Preston cemetery.
