John M. Bannister, 40, 1745 S. 137 East Ave., Tulsa, Okla., was found dead Tuesday afternoon in his home. He died of an apparent heart attack. Mr. Bannister lived in Fairmount before moving to Tulsa, Okla., six years ago. His father was John O. Bannister. He was employed as a truck driver. He was a member of the Fairmount American Legion Post 313 and was a Marine Corps veteran. He is survived by his mother, Betty (Johnson)Bannister, Fairmount; and four sisters, Mrs. Terry (Carolyn) Gilbert, Fairmount, Mrs. Jim (Judy) Myers, Gas City, Mrs. Frank (Becky) Sigler, Anderson, and Ann Bannister, Fairmount. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Hunt Funeral Home, 415 S. Main St., Fairmount. Xen Harvey will officiate, and burial will be in Park Cemetery, Fairmount. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
