John Calvin was called Slim.

John Calvin Fulfer...was named John Napoleon after his mother's step brother, Napoleon Roe. when his father died he took the middle name of Calvin, the same as his father's.

John Calvin Fulfer died March 1,1990 at Washakie Memorial Hospital in Worland, WY. He was 81. He was born July 30, 1908 in House, New Mexico Territory, a son of John Calvin Fulfer and Jessie Francis Ward Fulfer. He was raised near Wheeler, TX on a ranch and had also lived in Hot Springs, Arkansas for a few years. The family moved back to Wheeler in 1922. He then worked on a ranch as foreman before working in the oil fields for a short time. He then move to Allenreed, TX where he and his brother, Jesse Bradley Fulfer owned a ranch. The family then moved to Dimmitt, TX where he and his brother owned a ranch. June 1929, He married Mildred Standlee. They were later divorced, he and Mildred had two sons; John Calvin, Jr. and Standlee Clay. In 1939, he married Jayne Burnham.

He entered the Navy during WWII and served on a repair ship. Following the war, he returned to Dimmitt and with his brother until 1957, when he and his son John Jr. moved to Owl Creek and Gooseberry to ranch, near Worland, Wyoming.
