Durward Dale Mahon, 65 of Lubbock was killed in a one car accident on FM 2128 near Lubbock about noon Saturday.

Mahon, brother of Elmer Mahon of the Champion community, and Mrs. S. E. Meadows and Mrs. Harold Martin of Loraine, was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace George Smith. Mahon's car had left the road, crashed through several fences and collided with a tree, investigators reported. Apparently he had suffered a heart attack.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church in Lubbock.

He was born in Haynesville, Louisiana, and moved to Lubbock in 1941 from Loraine. He became a lawyer and farm investor, and served in the state attorney general's office from 1939-1941.

He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Mahon of Loraine.

He is survived by his wife of Lubbock, two daughters, Mrs. Sally Steward of Midland and Mrs. Dale Haynie of Lubbock and by three sons, Pat Mahon of Houston and Mike and Durward D. Jr., of Lubbock. By two brothers, Rep. George H. Mahon of Washington, D. C. and Elmer Mahon of Champion and by three sisters, Mrs. C. C. Reeder of Weatherford and Mrs. S. E. Meadows and Mrs. C. H. Martin of Loraine.
