Agnes Celia Healey was born in 1887 to Irish immigrant Thomas J Healey and his wife, Ellen Conley. She married James Arthur Hellems, around 1907. Their children were James, Agnes, and Gertrude Hellems. The 1920 US Census of Erie County, New York, lists James and Agnes as living on Elk Street with two children still at home. After she was widowed, Agnes lived on Perry Street. Agnes Healey Hellems died, 5 September 1959, aged 72, in Buffalo. Her funeral was held on 8 September at St Brigid's Church and she was buried at Holy Cross Cemetery.
